In a small business or home, you may find the need to share some files now and then. A NAS (network attached storage) device may be what you need. These devices are networked hard drives with a file server embedded into the circuitry. It’s a little box that can be smaller than a toaster.
NAS appliances all work about the same, some faster than others. Once the NAS device is connected to your network, you type in the web address and setup users and shares for the device. You then upload your files, music, or videos. If the NAS is DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) compliant, you can stream the files over the network to you pc, tablet, or phone. Some of these devices are now less than $200.
